And also has undertones of "Black Jack" if I remember my card-playing
lingo correctly. The Jack in a German deck of cards is referred to both as
a "Bub" (pronounced, to the delight of American servicemen, roughly as
"boob") and more colloquially as "Der Knabe." Or at least it was around
the card table that my Southern Hessian relatives played at.
