Hi all,
Laid waste to my digestive tract this Thanksgiving, spending the weekend
with my machetunim(sp?) at Kutsher's Country Club, the outhouse of the
Yiddische soul. A couple of experiences there worthy of relating:
The man in charge of activities (ping pong tournament, trivia quiz,
power walk...) was named Krazy Tyrone. He claimed to be the Guinness
Record Holder for jumping rope but I have not attempted to verify this.
At lunch Saturday, my brother-in-law bought a lottery ticket for
everyone to scratch off -- together I believe we won $18. My cousin
Danny asked everyone for their losing tickets, saying he needed to
offset the $2000 jackpot he had won recently in Atlantic City. I
initially thought he was talking Karmic Readjustment, but alas, nothing
so poetic; he just needs his tax returns to add up.

The right-hand, still untasted part of the novel, which,
during our delectable reading, we would lightly feel,
mechanically testing whether there were still plenty
left (and our fingers were always gladdened by the
placid, faithful thickness) has suddenly, for no reason
at all, become quite meager: a few minutes of quick
reading, already downhill, and -- O horrible!
