kinda like "the more we learn about the universe, the less sense it seems to
make" eh?; but this isn't what i had in mind here.
more along the lines of 'the more random the individual variables of a complex
system are, the easier it is to predict and control their aggregate behavior'.
or, 'the more the pawns remember about being pawns, the less effective they
become as pawns'.
or... memory clouds the view from on high...
