will this be concurrent with GRGR?
(assuming there still is a GRGR?)
anyone remember guido sarducci's 'pick the popes out of the pizza' contest from
old SNL? i can't recall off-hand where exactly on the pope-pizza pope pius ii
was placed. (aww, go pick a pike of pickled peppers)...
problem with the RC is that it's always been so damned un-christian... (ie
exactly the sort of thing that jesus disliked so much and got so pissed off
about during his life-time according to his disciples). Dostoevskii's critique
of the RC in this regard through his character ivan k is among the most
compelling essays on the topic. Fellini's vatican fashion show in 'roma' also
manages to evoke the same feeling.
interesting point that the jesuits are basically their own conspiracy apart from
the RC. has anyone read a good history of conflict between the jesuits (and
other monastic orders) and the centralized RC?
TRP's jesuits kind of remind me of a novel i read in middle school called 'a
canticle for liebowitz'...

he prob'ly wouldn't have bothered showing up to accept it anyway.
(though maybe if they offered him that biology prize...)
