 The original title is "Lebensansichten des Katers Murr". The first word might  
 be translated with "life views". The book stayed fragmentary. Its first part 
 was published in 1819, the second in 1821. Hoffman had planed a third part, but 
 then he died in 1822. He is one of the few German writers of the 19th century I 
 really like. His story "Der Sandmann" (- The Sandman) belongs, according to my 
 humble opinion, to the best texts ever written.
