e. canetti, die blendung (don't know english translation, it's a rather 
rarly used noun (in german) for the following kind of situation: you look 
into a bright light, the sun or so, (or a nice chic) and afterwards you're 
blind; or maybe if someone burns out your eyes, something this way)

i don't know if the books written in german have been translated to english. 
but if so, you should read "die blendung". that's maybe the BEST book EVER 
written (seriously....)
