Oh god, are we really having this discussion?  Well, then, _Petersburg_,
Andrei Bely (the Malmstead/Maguire translation is phenomenal).  A fave of
VI Sirin's as well.

Barnes Ignoble's "best of" list is about as meaningful as a list of General
Pinochet's favorite bedtime stories.  I'm surprised _Everything I Needed to
Know..._ wasn't there -- no non-fiction at all!  Not even the autobiography
of the Starbuck's guy!  Wow!

I like John McNamara's suggestion of including _Battlefield Earth_ along
with Ayn Rand's stuff.  That old eLRon sure knew how to...uh...well, he
sure knew how to start a cult, that's for sure!
