I saw your Octopus/Hydra post and I think it fits well.  The many 
headed/legged creatures and their regenerative powers, the crab, and the 
hero all groove.  Only the girl is missing, but why not?  It's interesting 
that Heracles is not "given credit" for this feat:

Perhaps the "she" in this reading would be Iolaos, Heracles nephew.  We all 
know what those Greeks did with younger boys...  Nahh!
