Yes, but I think we are getting off track now. You say that
Slothrop is in Bacchus role here. He has some
characteristics that might be drawn from Bacchus, but I
could argue that he has more attributes of Heracles and I
can even find the missing girl. Now I don't say he is
Heracles here or throughout the novel, no more than I would
read Grigori as a fallen angel, but if we take katje as
Venus (as she seems to have venus like characteristics in
this section) and when we turn back to Pointy and his
labyrinth and his Minotaur equation -- Venus/Ariadne--you
suggest that Slothrop is a Bacchus figure. OK, I know the
literature. What can we add to this? How can we
substantiate this role? How is Slothrop as Bacchus related
to his turning English/Regression Momma/Ancestry ??
