German edition of M & D///::: public reading?

 In today's FAZ there's an announcement of the Rowohlt publishing house that the 
 German edition of "Mason & Dixon" will appear soon. It has 1088 pages & costs 
 58- DM. The translation is by Nikolaus Stingl.

 I had the idea to make a public reading of it. Maybe this would help to make 
 Pynchon more popular in this country (- though intellectuals drop the name now 
 & then, nobody actually reads the holy books). Talked a little to Lars about  
 the idea, but he wasn't that enthusiactic. Anyone?
