In today's FAZ there's an announcement of the Rowohlt publishing house that the
German edition of "Mason & Dixon" will appear soon. It has 1088 pages & costs
58- DM. The translation is by Nikolaus Stingl.
I had the idea to make a public reading of it. Maybe this would help to make
Pynchon more popular in this country (- though intellectuals drop the name now
& then, nobody actually reads the holy books). Talked a little to Lars about
the idea, but he wasn't that enthusiactic. Anyone?
Kai (- who's also interested in other experiences with public readings of P.)
