GRGR(9) - Slothrop's No Dummy

Slothrop is amazingly aware the he's being scammed.  He knows it's not just 
paranoia.  _They_ are manipulating him, but he follows their lure willingly. 
  Why?  Lust?  Curiosity?  Conditioning?  Inertia?

His only naivete would be in not knowing how _deep_ their power runs.  Would 
you or I be any more aware?  Slothrop has all the trappings of a clown, but 
underneath he's really pretty quick.

If Slothrop "takes a potion" before his "journey to a dark place," her name 
is Katje.  O-or maybe she IS that dark place.
