PRIZE

One thing that Pynchon does here in GR that is tricky on the
reader is mix up the capitalized words. The word Prize
(capitalized) is used to refer to several different things
that old Pointy is after or has won. This is sort of like
his use of Mythological figures. He shifts these from
character to character and it's up to know not only the
story or myth and the attributes of the character but how
Pynchon applies them differently to different characters in
the novel--tricky. Sometime he does the same thing with
historical figures, names, places and times--tricky.
