More cracked than Trotsky's, comrade.

Now, everybody--

Seramos como el che...

ck, alive and well

P.S. I was in Philly for only the first three days of the protests, but
saw enough to prove twice Mark Wright's point about silence and
suppression:

1) The media black-out of the Poor People's March organized by the
Kensington Welfare Rights Union is a humanitarian scandal. Check out
their web site. I haven't had a chance to look yet myself, but they've
probably got a report about it. The New York Times should be ashamed of
that piece of, ahem, SHITE they published.

2) The Philly police pulled a crafty but not surprising pr job by doing
their dirty work when the cameras and microphones were pointed in other
directions. (Not to mention that they arrested organizers in advance of
demonstrations and intimidated protesters with absurdly massive shows of
force.) In other words, the whole world was *not* watching. I hope the
altenative media has raised some hell about this. Again, I haven't
checked yet, but there is an independent media site out of Philly that's
probably worth reading, if anybody's interested. Can't remember the URL
right now.

I carried part of the enormous Weeping Woman puppet with the good folks
of the School of the Americas Watch, and hung with the KWRU, whose
leader, the inspirational activist Cheri Honkala, was one of the reasons
I went to protest.
