Vollmann, Joyce and Pynchon

Saw an interesting review of William T. Vollmann's book in today's 
L.A. Times Book Review section and, though McGonigle starts off with 
a reference to Joyce and Ulysses, the references to the detective 
elements and San Narcisco, I mean, San Francisco made me think of T.P.

Perhaps future reviews will make parallels to GR and Lot?
