Also, there is an East and West to Manhattan that P created,
sort of from the news of the day. Not the NYC of today for
sure, but not as it was from 1955-1965 either. Why has P
created this East / West division? Also, when Benny goes up
town and slleps in the Fina's bathtub, his language changes
a little. That scene, Benny and the Jets, no Sharks, right?,
is one of my favorites in all of P's works.
I guess I should not have introduced Saigon at this time, or
West Side Story, or VL, it's just that Paola, that Ruby, the
whore houses and what not.
