Indeed.  Out of Africa was directed by Sydney Pollack (an American), and
Amadeus was directed by Milos Forman (an expatriate Czech).  Neither had any
involvement in the other's film.  BTW, Volker Schlöndorff (a German) got the
job of directing the 1985 version of Death of a Salesman because its
producers >thought< he had directed Mephisto.
