Nietzsche Bio

 rüdiger safranski, who wrote great bios on schopenhauer & on heidegger (- both 
 highly recommended), is currently finishing a new nietzsche bio, which will be 
 out later this year. since freddy is so popular on your side of the ocean, i 
 assume there will be a translation by 2002. well, this doesn't help your friend 
 now. most nietzsche bios i had in hands were quite disappointing. in case your 
 friend reads german, he can use the "chronik zu nietzsches leben" in volume 15 
 (pp. 7-212)of the critical study edition by colli/montinari (- concerning the 
 late fragments, which became known under the title "the will to power", the 
 only uncorrupted edition).
