Kevin Brown asked for recommendation for monk mysteries.

There is some public TV series with a monk detective that I've surfed past 
more than once. Brother Caed***? or something like that -- has anyone seen 
it and remember the name?

Since public TV often needs some underlying textual authority, I assume 
it's based on some book. Anyone know the author?
