And don't forget: us. If it is anyone that is tracking the "new mark

it is us he is trying so "inanimately" to avoid being caught, captured and
otherwise summed up by.
Perhaps a metaphysical clue for us: the first hint of agency in the
heretofore dead aggregation of matter that preceeded the miracle we take
for granted may have been the need to avoid that which lies behind "the
word"- all the rest of the universe- from which life distinguishes itself.
