I wish it was *no*.  Unfortunately it is *yes*.  If people are discussing
such matters with regard to Pynchon, they are somewhat important to me.
Especially when Dudious says that seeking such definitions are more
important with Pynchon than with most other authors of our time. What I am
searching for is a reason to seek out the knowledge which the lit-crits on
the list seem to be in possession.  The preterite will (should) always seek
the knowledge necessary to become the elect (wether lit-crits are elect is
up for discussion).  I felt as though Lycidas' clear post was sufficient to
stir my interests.
