Do I miss something when I read his books
because I am not able to identify the transition between Menippean Satire
and regular satire?
st.
Well, yes. If TRP is using such transitions, or such different types of
satire, as part of the complex artistry of his novel. Or, if applying such a
hermeneutic is really fun and stimulating.
Another question would be whether or not you *care* if you are missing the
angl/e provided by Dudious. The answer to that is *no.* And I would also
assert with confidence that the post-modernism thing isn't going to bother
you on your death bed. Of course, that standard of evaluation would probably
render a lot of things you *do* find meaningful - not all that far from
finding importance in satirical transitions. I don't know why I am talking
to you like this st, but I would like to take this opportunity to apologize
for so doing.
This has been a public service announcement.
