[Lorentzen / Nicklaus]

"... a film, we have not learned to see ... its now a closeup of the face, a
face we all know ---" (760)

"don't wanna talk/talk about jesus/i just wanna see his face ..." (the rolling
  stones, 1972)

> I count twelve occurrences of the word 'face' between 669.12
> and 671.24. Not to mention loads of eyes and a sprinkling
> of foreheads, cheeks, jaws, skulls, mouths.
>
> Many of these are *not* used directly to expound on the theme:
> the multiplicity of 'faces' which veil, reflect and ultimately
> betray the true characters of Thanatz, and Blicero.
>
> A deliberate connection?
> You know it.
