Can't REALLY answer this question, but it probably has to do with the 
stereotype of the "pissy queen," always immpeccable in outward form and 
style, while keeping endless bitchy track of the flaws of others.

M.Myrtle would be the flawed mother-figure of this group:  always rescuing 
he needy boys, always providing their needs, always at their call, but FF: 
never loving, only growing ever more resentful of the failure of her boys to 
"grow up."
