Another Pynch-dream over the weekend:

Next Pynchon novel will be 202 pgs and the lady heroine's name begins with 
the letter "M". I read the title in the dream but can't remember it as 
usual. stupid brain.

u heard it hear first  ;)

P.S.  If it turns out to be true, I will personally give everyone here a 
buck.

P.P.S.  Has anyone made any connection between The Secret Integration and 
Faulkner in any way? There's an interesting scene in Absalom where Quentin 
(when young) and his friends are searching out Sutpen's Hundred and the 
"haunted" mansion that lay there in ruins.  There are many such haunted 
places in both writer's works (granted I haven't read half of WF's works, 
but I'm working on it)--the power of the past, racial and social injustice, 
and prose you'd love to lick for supper, the scope of characters, not so 
much in the number but in their fabulous variety.
