by Jack Cole
In his 1941 origin story, when gangster Eel O'Brien is injured by a falling
vat of acid during a chemical-plant robbery, the future seems bleak... until
the outlaw is rescued by a kindly monk and changes his ways. Discovering his
injuries have left him with strange stretching powers, Eel decides to use
his powers to atone for his life of crime, aided in his shape-changing
exploits by hapless half-wit "Woozy" Winks.

Plastic Man #7
November-December 1967 DC Comics
Plastic Man's Fantastic Old Man!

Writer: Jack Cole & Marv Wolfman.
Cover Artist: Jack Cole.
Cover: A chunky gorilla streches and ties Plastic Man in knots! It hurts so
much that Plastic Man develops two right hands!

This issue helps prove the "put a gorilla on your cover to get sales"
theory, seeing that no gorilla actually appears in the comic.
