Ickyology:

Essay One, Final Exam, English 101

While Reading gravity's rainbow or paradise lost (and Poems,
essays, etc.), sentences Disclose their 'meaning' only
gradually and the Process by
which they do so is the true paradigm shifting
meaningfulnessobject(s) of Critical scrutiny as in the
Ickyology of that particularly famous example, whereby
Stanley Fish, in his "Surprised by Sin", argues that the
Reader of paradise lost is constantly Reader-Trapped by the
Dynamics of the
Reading Process into "(mis)reading" and "(mis)interpreting"
what S/he has
contructed/read at all levels, from that of Construing
a sentence to that of deciding who is the S/hero of the
Poem; this whole Process is a demonstration to the reader
that S/he is
a denizen of the postlapsarian world ushered in by events
Narrated
within the Poem, and so incapable of understanding the
prelapsarian world with
which the Poem begins.

Write a 7-10 page essay explaining why Fish's Surprise had
no Gravity?

Just funning, I love all Fish, well, not blue fish,
