I sometimes get the impression that this is precisely what happens when we
look to deep into all those correpondences we can find in Pynchon`s novels.
Even a "qid wager on the Blackpool-Preston North End game" (19 - to catch up
with the soccer boys) will be reduced to the binary opposition of zero and
one . . .
