GR and the Holocaust

I was pleased to see that at least one Pynchon scholar would seem to 
agree that the Holocaust is central to GR -- Richard Crownshaw in his 
article, Gravity's Rainbow: Pynchon's Holocaust Allegory, in the new 
Pynchon Notes. Crownshaw writes (this quote does not do justice to a 
highly nuanced treatment), "Pynchon dramatizes how the Holocaust is 
recalled only to be subsumed in an official History which 
rationalizes or mystifies the evolution of the  American 
military-industrial complex ...."
