Mary´s virginity is another case of mistranslation: the original (arameic?
hebrew?) word to describe her was something that could be more accurately
translated as "maiden", "young woman", even "teenager" (although that
concept didn´t exist by that times), but, well, in the passage from
hebrew(?) to greek and then to latin she became a virgin.
And then, from giving a virgin birth (quite a task, enough for earning
Heaven) she became a life-long virgin (poor Joseph!)

In some passage of one gospel (don´t ask me, don´t want to check) somebody
tells Jesus that his brothers were waiting outside. I asked to a priest at
school and he answered that it was figured speech, avoiding the question of
Jesus´ brothers and/or sisters.
It seems absurd, in the context of old time Judea, that Mary would had gone
on and on with her hymen intact, and that Jesus had had human siblings. Why
can He have brothers & sisters, btw? (it´s a rhetoric question, don´t answer
it, I know why not!)
