An Observation

Been enjoying Frances' Fitzgerald's Way Out There In The Blue: Reagan, Star
Wars and the End of the Cold War. Reads like Strangelove 20 yrs later as
well as an in-depth examination of the mythical aspects of the Reagan
presidency and overall political career in California.

There is much there that relates to the concerns of GR and Vineland, and
Pynchon's work as a whole. I never cease to wonder how much of my reading
outside of Mr P's works somehow get me thinking about his fiction, whether
consciously or not. I've been told that great musicians are great not
solely on their own ability, but how they inspire those playing with them to
reach newer heights. Reading Pynchon makes us better readers, I suppose.

WOTITB is very funny, at times, too.
