V.V.?? We'll See . . .

Well gee.

I proceed gingerly here, not wanting to misstep and trip, my
heal accidently brushing the flint that ignites the flame.
(Forgive the metaphor. It's the fall weather and I'm going
to a bonfire tonight. No, really.) But enough.

It's obvious that the key players here are exhausted. And I
write not to offer a vote but encouragement, for the lurkers
as well as the recent participants to rekindle their
enthusiasm for the V-read. Of course this is for purely
selfish reasons, having signed on somewhere in the Zone and
therefore having not the benefit of the full process.
Needless to say, I was looking forward to this new communal
activity. Come now, is there no flicker of interest? No
spark?

Perhaps what we need is a field trip.

For what it's worth, here's my two-cents on the V. issue:

I watched GRGR from the sidelines for quite some time, so
when the
opportunity to get in the game with V. arose, I
enthusiastically donned my helmet and signed-up for a
section to host (forgive the football metaphor, it's fall
weather, y'know).

[snip]

I'm going to relinquish my lil 'ol section of V. for anyone
else who
would like it. I've taught novels back-to-back-to-back
before, and students get fried after awhile . . . they need
a movie to catch their breath. Why should we be any
different? Perhaps this list needs a breather.
