V.V.?? We'll See . . .

For what it's worth, here's my two-cents on the V. issue:
I watched GRGR from the sidelines for quite some time, so when the
opportunity
to get in the game with V. arose, I enthusiastically donned my helmet
and
signed-up for a section to host (forgive the football metaphor, it's
fall
weather, y'know).
However, I can see that many of you who participated in GRGR are just
plain
Pynchoned-out, and believe me, I've gone on author binges before --- I
know the
feeling. Although I didn't participate in GRGR, I've been reading along
as well
as reading other Pynch stuff. For as wonderful as TRP is, he can also be
taxing
. . . besides, there's so much other good stuff out there, too, and I
for one
also have a hankerin' for Gaddis (whom I haven't read at all). And I
recently
purchased _Pynchon's Mythography_, and would like to dig into that
sometime soon
(yo, Morris!).
I'm going to relinquish my lil 'ol section of V. for anyone else who
would like
it. I've taught novels back-to-back-to-back before, and students get
fried
after awhile . . . they need a movie to catch their breath. Why should
we be any
different? Perhaps this list needs a breather. If V.V. gets under way,
I'll
watch and participate whenever I can. In the meantime, a good, meaty
Dickens
novel and that Guinness might go down well about now.
