I know this is chvostism (Tailism-Trotsky's pejorative for the 
theory/practice of following behind events), but the Summarize Proust comment 
reminded me of a performance of Second City Comedy Troop which I attended a 
few years ago. One of their routines is to line up on the stage, ask the 
audience to name an author for each cast member, and then to tell a part of a 
story in that author's style, stop at a key point, and have the next in line 
pick it up in his/her author's style. Unfortunately, when I suggested TRP, 
there was silence. One member asked me to reconsider. I settled for Faulkner. 
It was an entertaining bit anyway. Only idle chatter from,
