Very quickly.  Pardon me ev'ryone if my posting of the
text of that NY times Michael Taussig article seems to
show up long after it's already been brought up here. 
There seems to be a significant delay on these Yahoo!
posts at times.  I've often received responses to my
posts long before the List sends 'em back to me, even.
 But Taussig is indeed an interesting figure, esp.
here (I'd recommend his Mimesis and Alterity, as well
as his The Nervous System, and you can't beat The
Devil and Commodity Fetishism in South America for a
title ...). Okay, now where was I (on what amounts to
the first springlike day of spring here) ...
