Of course. And is there anything less crappy about
your reply to me or my reply to you than (the
aggression or whatever, that which stinks up the
list)....?

But the jury, with more experience in court than
either the judge or the advocates, can't help but
consider the fact that Doug is your only client.
I too think it a sin and a shame to kill a
Mockingbird.
However, it's not a Mockingbird apeing a screaming
blue-jay in the junk yard that you defend. No one has
let the dogs out, but blue jays can't expect to keep
all their feathers if they keep screaming the names of
the cats everytime the dogs bark.

I doubt that the jury will like this argument. It may
in fact hurt your case. Doug is no Fina. If he gets
banged he doesn't get to spit and teach Benny a god
damned thing.

Yes. And maybe that's one reason Flaherty would prefer
to keep his name out of this. OK?

Burying the hatchet between someone's shoulder blades.

Right, but you will not convince this wise old jury
that your client is an virgin mockingbird. Perhaps a
plea bargaign? can you convince your client to stay
out of the cathouse? While no one wants to clip J.
Livingston Seagull's wings, we all know the song, if
that mockingbird don't sing, but this jury can't be
bought.
