This was also a particular sticking point for me, as
there are aspects of not only Varo's works (as
mentioned by Pynchon or otherwise), but of her life, 
esp. her association with the politically charged as
well Surrealist poet Benjamin Peret, quite resonant
with those Pynchonian texts on their own ...

I am, however, also perfectly willing to admit Varro
as a felicitous, possibly even purposefully so,
overtone here ...
