I'll add my thanks to Otto's, and I do look forward to seeing Quail on the
big (or small) screen, when ultimately it arrives out here.
It seems that that title, which is obviously taken from the 'Watts' article,
is a misnomer. If it were an actual biography then you'd expect it to
interview the man himself. In the "Watts" piece Pynchon actually went and
talked to the people in Watts to get "into" their minds and so write his op.
ed. report. Apparently these guys haven't or weren't able to interview
Pynchon, which is pretty much as you'd expect. As such, whatever conclusions
the film reaches about his "mind" - his personal opinions - can only remain
conjecture.
The writing, as always, is left to speak for itself.
