They were actually quite nice. After the interview, we drank 
ourselves silly and listened to odd music, and talked global politics 
until dawn. If I recall, Tim had a similar pleasurable experience.

Yes, Richard is the guy who used to run the Pynchon Files. And maybe 
there's a reason for his paranoia -- after all, he closed his site 
without explanation, and all emails to him go unanswered....
