Catching up on old posts here.  I do believe Boyle is
indeed referring to that two-fingered Victory sign a
la Winston Churchill (which, of course, at least
across either ocean on either side of us, when turned
knuckles toward the viewer takes on a somewhat
different connotation ...).  And thanks for the
reference.  You might also be interested in ...
