Pynchon interviewed in Playboy Japan re 9-11

Um, I wuz just wondering, does P really hate rich
people? I always thought he was, well not exacly rich,
but relatively well off and living in NYC where a lot
of rich people live and where his kid goes to school
with some pretty wealthy kids and well I was wondering
what this statement about rich people could really
mean. Is he talking about rich Saudi terrorists or
rich Presidents or what? Just hope he's not talking
about rich slothful surfer dudes. I mean, I would like
to be a slothful Bartelby the scrivener too, but the 
talent just isn't there so I'm just a slothful surfer
dude. Of course I'll never get married Jackson! That's
fur sure.
