V.V.(9) Intro

Yes, it's me again, welcoming all of you to V.V.(9)!  What follows for
the introduction to our discussion of the first part of Chapter Seven,
"She hangs on the western wall," will be four messages.  Two of them
will be split to stay under the 10K limit.

The format will be much like my past hosting posts for _GR_ and the one
we are just finishing for _V._.  The first post will be a summary of
the reading, the second will be notes for some selected references. 
Again, I have tried not to duplicate the fine effort of J. Kerry
Grant's _Companion_ too much and I have found some alternate sources. 
The third message will be a commentary on some of the events in the
chapter.  The fourth message, however, will consist solely of some
thoughts and Pynchcrit citations regarding Vheissu.  The Vheissu
sections of the book have always fascinated me through every time
through the book, this being my third full time through it.
