Why Athena or Neith? The owl, yes... and?

Wisdom, from Metis?

Athena is a Virgin Mother, besides the goddess of war,
industry, military arts and sciences, skill.

Isn't Geli a witch and not a goddess.
What kind of witch is she?

See GR.329

Geli standing on the plexus of German evil.

Note also, the Antinomian Amy Sprue. Remember that W.
Slothrop's Heresy includes Newton and before he returns to
England he considers turning Antinomian. Note also that P
alludes to his Short Story, "The Secret Integration" and
most importantly, to Crazy Sue Dunham (pseudonym).

The parthenogenic force? I don't associate this with Geli
in GR, but with Greta and the "White women."

GR.478 "smashed vessel" and Shekhinah

Athena sprung fully grown out of her father's head.

As did Sin, the daughter of Satan and the Mother of Death in
PL.

T' whom thus the Portress of Hell-gate replied:--
"Hast thou forgot me, then; and do I seem
Now in thine eye so foul?--once deemed so fair
In Heaven, when at th' assembly, and in sight
Of all the Seraphim with thee combined
In bold conspiracy against Heaven's King,
All on a sudden miserable pain
Surprised thee, dim thine eyes and dizzy swum
In darkness, while thy head flames thick and fast
Threw forth, till on the left side opening wide,
Likest to thee in shape and countenance bright,
Then shining heavenly fair, a goddess armed,
Out of thy head I sprung. Amazement seized
All th' host of Heaven; back they recoiled afraid
At first, and called me Sin, and for a sign
Portentous held me; (PL 2.746-62)

Can you please give me that pages in GR and the Canto (if
you have a specific Canto in mind)?

Angels:

What about the Angels in GR?

In Paradise Lost (I, 534), Milton uses the name Azazel for
the standard-bearer of the rebel angels.

Azazel: A wild demon from the desert in the Old Testament to
whom the scapegoat was driven forth, but is also mentioned
as the place to which the scapegoat was sent on the Day of
Atonement. Two goats were chosen and after one was
sacrificed, the other was let
loose in the wilderness, symbolically carrying away the
nation's sins. This ritual is
described in the Avodah. Aaron, as atonement, 'shall cast
lots' on two goats 'one for
the Lord, and the other for the scapegoat' (Azazel). The
name of Azazel (as supernatural
power) means "goat-god".

In Moslem demonology, Azazel is the counterpart of the devil
in refusing to worship
Adam or acknowledging the supremacy of God. His name was
changed to Iblis (Eblis),
which means 'despair'.

Any thoughts on GR and horses?

White horses?

What about Helios?

Buddha is said to have been an Avatar of Vishnu. Nine of
these Avatars have
passed; the tenth is to be called Kalki Avatara, where he
will appear armed with a
scimitar, and riding on a white horse, where he will end the
present age. After that, he
will sleep on the waters, produce Brahma, and inaugurate the
new world.

In the New Testament, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
are the allegorical figures
of the sixth chapter of the Book of Revelation. These four
agents of destruction are
generally understood to symbolize power or conquest,
violence or war, poverty or
famine, and death. The first appears on a white horse, the
second on a red horse, the
third on a black horse, and the fourth on a pale horse.

"I looked and behold a pale horse; and his name that sat
on him was
    Death." (Rev. vi, 8)

Kalki: "Time" and the tenth and last incarnation of Vishnu,
who will come from the sky upon a white horse and wreak
final destruction upon the wicked, renew creation and
restore righteousness.

What about White light and Wisdom?

gShen-lha od-dkar: In Tibetan Bon-religion, the god of the
'white light' who forms with the goddess Yum-chen-mo the
primeval pair of gods. All the other gods are their
descendants. In Lamaism he is the god of wisdom.

Part 3 of GR opens with the Eis Heilegen (P sets up the
Calendar, Sophia is an Ice Saint like the others, but also
Sophia NHC II 4,94 (142), 5-13).

Ertha is German, Mother Earth, Greta is Earth man.

The mud and ice are very important. 477-82 and note the
holy waters of Lourdes (no simple RC colonial satire)

Lileth...

The Japanese goddess I was thinking of, the one that eats
grandmothers, that's what my Japanese cook used to say, is
Yuki-Onna: The Lady of the Snow, the Snow Queen or Winter
Ghost. Sometimes appears as an earthly woman, marries
and has children, but sometimes she will disappear in a
white mist. Dreams on a Mountain, sleep.

Whiteness is the most important color to Hansel and Gretel.
