IBM, Disney, Bush: Nazis?

Take current President Bush (please!): I find it interesting to know
what kind of people he grew up amongst. He may be a diminished version
of his great-grandpappies (who were convicted of laundering money for
the Nazis and aiding their U.S. propaganda efforts -- during the war,
even!) or his own father, who helped organized the illegal Bay of Pigs
invasion of Cuba and the illegal Iran-Contra scheme under Reagan, but it
certainly puts a different light on his stealing of the election and his
initiatives to provide government services through church groups. It
would indeed be a distortion to call Mr Bush a Nazi, but he was raised
to act with the same arrogance. The historical record simply reminds us
of what some people have tried to get away.

Like Slothrop's life under psychological surveillance, our society is
repeatedly sold to the corporations (notably the pharmaceutical and oil
industries) that keep the Bushes and the Gores in the money. This may
not be taking us down the path of fascism, but it sure isn't taking us
very far in the other direction.
