No, I have not suggested that Achebe's words should be
omitted or discarded, but only that the critical edition of
HoD need not and should not be wedded to Achebe's essay
forever. The two texts need to become one. A progressive
critical literacy is the first step, but progress requires,
demands,  that we make difficult decisions.
