_Lineland_ on sale cheap

I thought some of you other old-timers here might be interested to know that 
at the annual Winter Sale at the downtown Borders here in Santa Barbara a 
couple of weeks ago I saw the infamous _Lineland_ for half off--the first 
time I've ever seen the book for sale at a bookstore.  I didn't buy it as 
I've already got my two free copies courtesy of Jules' use of a couple of my 
e-mails in the book.

Personally, I think the book is an interesting and potentially useful 
chronicle of the cat- and dog-fights that took place on this particular 
online list--a list ostensibly frequented by persons of relatively high 
intelligence.  Despite all the acrimony on all sides about the book and 
Jules' methods of collecting data for it, I'm glad he put it together.  The 
experience also provided a useful lesson about the permanency of
e-mail.
