This may overstate the case a bit, but there is no question that 
Brown Brothers Harriman provided "critical" services to Nazi 
Germany, specifically the sourcing of sophisticated aviation fuel 
components which Germany was precluded from posessing. This 
goes beyond general services like transportation and credit. In fact, 
the confiscated elements of the bank were formed for the purpose of 
performing such functions for ONE CLIENT - Nazi Germany. In 
such a context it is difficult to credit the notion that BBH was out 
there just serving "the market", of which Nazi Germany was but a 
part.
