The surround-sound theater, a permanent
installation, offers another illuminating
moment: an interview with Dick Cavett in
which Hendrix talks about playing what
Cavett supportively calls an "unorthodox"
version of "The Star-Spangled Banner." 

"I'm an American, so I played it," says the
former Army paratrooper. Protesting that
his treatment of the song isn't orthodox,
he adds, "I thought it was beautiful."
