so do i. you, however, played a more, well, "official" version. just a little
gedankenexperiment: if dougie would post, like some of us involved in this
maelstrom of war (it's not just, as you and others like to over-simplify it,
rob vs. millison), from another continent, would he still get that much
support for his pestilent calumniations among the silent moral majority and
even among people like you? very probably not. he's called several people
  racists, holocaust-deniers, child molesters, anti-semites, neo-corporates,
neo-nazis, neo-idontknow ... and he goes on doing it. again and again and
again. y o u simply do not know how it feels to be, as a foreigner,
calumniated in such a way, carrying nationalist undertones. rob does. so do i.
and i tell you: this pain is different from becoming object of an ordinary
flaming. when will you people start to understand this?! and although it were
not the people dougie accused but he himself who's made ugly statements about
"savages from whom we", so millison, "differ by controling our impulses", you
people tolerate and shelter him without any irritation. for this i have no
other explanation than - nationalism. if dougie would live in and post from,
say, india, he would certainly n o t get through with this. try to imagine
it, it's grotesque. a-and hey keith, another point i really do not get is: why
do you let yourself get intrumentalized by those motherfucking chickens who
ain't brave enough to speak onlist for themselves? we haven't elected you or
something to act as a "general host"! or did i miss this?! you're just hosting
this group read (for reasons i do not really understand), means you' re
providing us, if needed, with page-numbers. that's it. if you're not reading
rob's postings anymore, it's your personal fault and misery ... you've lost me
here completely. when i, in fall, mentioned this peculiar kind of nationalism
for the first time, i got two encouraring offlist responses by fellow european
p-lister. one wrote me: "you're right, they want this list to be an
  a m e r i c a n baby ..." so, i'm not only speaking for myself here. always
thought this cyberspace was about "post-nationalism" ... but then it still
seems to be the same old crap.

congratulations! kfl //:: ps: a toast to america! a-and a toast to free
                                 speech!
