... just arrived via the daily UPS here, Star Maidens (Die Madchen aus
dem Weltraum), original soundtrack by Barry Lipman & Orchestra,
apparently from an Anglo-German SF TV series ca. 1975 (1976 on the
Beeb), and, boy, does it look like it. Inc. "Sex World" (vocal: Toni
McVey). Familiar with this at all, kai? Anyone? Much wacky ...
But you were right about those German "Indian" films, kai. Is is a
stereotype to note the fascination with Native Americans in Germany? It
does seem common amongst the tourists here, at any rate. One might
argue that modern anthropology to some extent begins with this
fascination, though I believe that seminal figure here Franz Boas was
actually Austrian. No doubt rooted in that famed German Romanticism?
But I see the List has been quite productive again, inc. a long,
provocative (in the best possible sense, short of full frontal nudity)
post from Terrance there, inc. that (German, though hardly only,
Romanticist?) lovedeath thing, that Romanticist death aesthetic, which
I've long been meaning to address here. Now I just gotta find the books
...
