I will set it out, the calendar that is. Maybe it will make
sense, maybe not.

Chapter Six provides more:

"Profane came to tally his time in reverse or schlemihl's
light: time on the job as
escape, time exposed to any possibility of getting involved
with Fina as assbreaking,
wageless labor."

Right now, I gotta get the uptown local and it's dark here
and some little Spanish kid broke my glasses yesterday. The
labor issue is noted in every chapter, I think. Division of
labor in the good doctor's fly boy past and so forth, forced
labor--Herero.

What do they call this kinda song? Cheeeeeeze! I think? I
will not eat government cheese and ham, "I do not like it,
lady, no", I do not like it Sam I Am.

while mona lisas and mad hatters
sons of bankers sons of lawyers
turn around and say
good morning to the night
for unless they see the sky
but the can't and that is why
they know not if it's
dark outside or light

and now I know
spanish harlem aren't just
pretty words to say
i thought i knew
but now i know
that rose trees never grow
in new york city
subway's no way
for this good man to go down
rich man can ride
and the hobo he can drown
i thank the lord
for the people i have found
i thank the lord
for the people i have found
